Rehab Specialist Certification Program

The Trainers Guild™ Rehab Specialist Certification program is an effort to establish a national standard for recognition and support of people engaged in the work of housing renovation construction and production, generally called housing rehabilitation. The online presence of the program is HousingRehab.org, home of the National Housing Rehab Specialist Forum™ (NRSF).  Membership in NRSF is granted to all Certified Rehab Specialists. Trainers Guild™ certification is awarded to professionals who have met the program requirements.  For 2009, the Standards and Certification committee of the Trainers Guild™ has established interim requirements, which are subject to modification in the future, but not retroactively. Certification requirements include;

Application submission to the Trainers Guild™

OR acceptance of an invitation from theTrainers Guild™

Acceptance of the NRSF Code of Ethics

Acceptance of the NRSF Client Bill of Rights

Completion of training requirements

Documentation of rehab program practices by submission of required exhibits

A passing score on a written examination.

There is at present no continuing professional education requirement, but that may be added in the future. Any or all certification requirements can be waived by the Standards and Certification committee in recognition of outstanding candidates whose experience, skill and professionalism is known to the committee. There are no fees required for the certification program for 2009.  There is a $25 materials and shipping charge for the printed certificate document.
