The Trainers Guild™
Rehab Specialist Certification program is an effort to establish a national
standard for recognition and support of people engaged in the work of housing
renovation construction and production, generally
called housing rehabilitation.
The online presence
of the program is HousingRehab.org, home of the National Housing Rehab
Specialist Forum™ (NRSF). Membership in NRSF is granted to all Certified Rehab Specialists.
Trainers Guild™
certification is awarded to professionals who have met the program
requirements. For 2009, the
Standards and Certification committee of the Trainers Guild™ has established
interim requirements, which are subject to modification in the future, but not
retroactively.
Certification
requirements include;
Application
submission to the Trainers Guild™
OR
acceptance of an invitation from theTrainers Guild™
Acceptance
of the NRSF Code of Ethics
Acceptance
of the NRSF Client Bill of Rights
Completion
of training requirements
Documentation
of rehab program practices by submission of required exhibits
A passing score on a written examination.
There is at present
no continuing professional education requirement, but that may be added in the
future.
Any
or all certification requirements can be waived by the Standards and
Certification committee in recognition of outstanding candidates whose
experience, skill and professionalism is known to the committee.
There are no fees
required for the certification program for 2009. There is a $25 materials and shipping charge for the printed
certificate document.
