1. Rehab
Specialists shall avoid conflicts of interest and activities that appear to
compromise professional independence or objectivity.
A. Rehab
Specialists shall not provide services for compensation on properties in which
they have, or expect to have, a financial interest.
B. Rehab
Specialists shall not provide services to properties under contingent
arrangements whereby upon the sale of a property or construction, compensation
or future work are dependent on reported findings.
C. Rehab
Specialists shall not receive compensation for services on a single property
from more than one party unless agreed to in writing by both parties.
D. Rehab
Specialists shall not accept compensation, directly or indirectly, for recommending
contractors, services or products to clients or other parties having an
interest in properties.
E. Rehab
Specialists shall not repair, replace or upgrade, for compensation, systems or
components of clients.
2. Rehab
Specialists shall act within their area of expertise, in good faith and honoring
the privacy of each client.
A. Rehab
Specialists shall perform services and express opinions based on genuine
conviction and only within their areas of education, training or experience.
B. Rehab
Specialists shall be objective in their reporting and not knowingly understate
or overstate the significance of reported conditions.
C. Rehab
Specialists shall not disclose project or client information without client
approval. Rehab Specialists, at
their discretion, may disclose observed immediate safety hazards to occupants
exposed to such hazards, when feasible.
3. Rehab
Specialists shall avoid activities that may harm the public, discredit
themselves, or reduce public confidence in the profession.
A. Rehab
Specialists shall report substantive and willful violations of this Code to the
Forum.
