These pictures produced by Paul Webb are anaglyph 3D simulations which are viewed with red-blue or red-cyan glasses. They are produced from two images taken about 2 to 3 inches apart, moving the camera to the right. The RGB (red-green-blue) channels of the two images are then manipulated and combined to produce the anaglyph. There are also ways to produce a 3D using a single image, but that is tricky and tedious work. These were made using a combination of Photoshop, and Anaglyph Workshop (shareware $10). NASA uses this method for its 3D images. Click to see them. If you can't find 3D viewing glasses you can make some by using a red Sharpie to color the LEFT lens and a blue Sharpie to color the RIGHT lens of a pair of clear safety goggles from the hardware store. Click for a few sample 3D images from the internet, some of which were refocussed by Paul Webb.
